Quran courses — recitation, understanding, contemplation.

Three distinct paths through the Qurʾān, taught with the same care as the rest of our curriculum: recitation (tajwīd), understanding (tafsīr), and contemplation (tadabbur).

Tajwīd — the science of recitation

From the basic rules of articulation (makhārij and ṣifāt) to the full Ḥafṣ recitation, taught by ijāza-holding teachers. Students may begin at any age.

Tafsīr — understanding the text

A slow, sūra-by-sūra reading drawing on the great classical commentaries (al-Ṭabarī, Ibn Kathīr, al-Qurṭubī). Open to all adult students of intermediate Arabic and above.

Tadabbur — contemplation

A monthly evening circle, in Arabic, on a single page of the Qurʾān. We read, we sit with the words, and we let them speak. No microphone, no recording — only presence.

Who teaches

Our Qurʾān teachers hold full ijāzāt in Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim. Tafsīr is led by a senior teacher with classical training in the Islamic sciences.
